Restorative

Props support the body fully in passive poses for a deeply restful and rejuvenating practice. All are welcome.

You may need a bolster (or bed pillows), blankets and blocks for practice. Props will be indicated at the start of the video.

  • 30 min restorative w/ Katrina

    This short practice includes one leg at a time up a pillow ramp and then a long savasana. Have two pillows and at least 1 blanket (have a second to cover up with if you like!)

  • 45 min restorative w/ Katrina: 2 pillows and 2 blankets

    This restorative practice uses 2 pillows and 2 blankets. We will do a few supported poses and end with a segmented body relaxation that leads into a long savasana.

  • 45 min restorative w/ Katrina: extra pillows

    This restorative practice uses more pillows than usual - two throw pillows and two bed pillows.

  • 30 min restorative w/ Katrina: sama vritti + legs up the wall

    This practice begins with a type of pranayama called sama vritti and ends with the restorative pose of legs up the wall. Have a comfortable blanket, bolster, or pillow to sit on for pranayama and any comfortable, cozy clothing or blankets that you wish for.

  • 30 min restorative w/ Katrina: yoga nidra

    Yoga Nidra is a type of guided meditation that is often practiced in savasana. Have comfortable and warm clothing, pillows - perhaps under your knees - and plenty of blankets for a very cozy setup. (We will be in savasana or your preferred meditation posture the whole time.)

  • 30 min restorative w/ Katrina: at the wall

    This restorative practice uses just two blankets and a wall space that is sturdy and free of windows or art and about 3 feet wide (a door will work if that’s what you’ve got!). Wear something comfortable, including socks if your feet get chilly.

  • 30 min restorative w/ Katrina

    This practice aims to intentionally quiet the chatter of the mind and replace it with calm attention to breath and body. Have a blanket, two pillows, and a block or box.

    This restorative practice uses one each pillow, block, and blanket, and focuses on the idea of softening into the situations we find ourselves in.

  • 30 min gentle + restore w/ Katrina: shoulder love

    This gentle practice stays off the wrists and knees. We focus on shoulder relaxation, mobility, and opening at the beginning and end with a few restorative poses. You will need a pillow and a blanket or towel.

  • 45 min restorative w/ Katrina

    This restorative practice focuses on the basics of restorative as well as the concept of simplicity. Have two pillows and a blanket for this gentle practice!

  • 20 min restorative w/ Katrina: massage and restore

    This 20 minute practice starts with some gentle self massage and then engages in two restorative poses. May not be the best practice for folks with arthritis in the hands, or other conditions where repeated squeezing the hands is painful! For props: have a blanket and two pillows.

  • 20 min restorative w/ Katrina: one blanket only

    This relaxing practice is for the person on the go who is looking for simple, restorative poses to do with just one blanket or towel. (If you only have small or thin towels on hand, perhaps layer two together so they don't mush down too flat in the poses!)

    This restorative practice is geared towards people who already have a fair amount of mobility and flexibility in their hips, knees, and ankles.   • 30 min restorative w/ Katrina: heart openers

    This practice focuses on heart openers, aka shoulder and chest opening, and is perfect for releasing upper back tension after long hours spent typing, texting, driving, etc. We will use two pillows and a thick blanket.

  • 45 min restorative w/ Katrina

    This practice uses a blanket and two pillows for a belly down backbend, bridge, and legs up on the pillows.

  • 20 min restorative w/ Katrina: at the wall

    This practice happens entirely at the wall. Have two pillows or a bolster, a blanket, and of course some wall space.

    This restorative practice focuses on getting out of the way of your breath while prioritizing kind attention to relaxing the body. Start with a hip release, followed by a twist and a heart bench backbend. End with a body scan in savasana. Have two blocks, a blanket, and a yoga strap or belt.

    This restorative practice requires a chair, a pillow, and a blanket. Start with a forward fold, followed by a hip opener, and end with legs up. Jump into something comfy and let’s relax!

    For this restorative practice, we hold the intention of cultivating full body awareness and relaxation. We will start with a gentle twist, move to a supported bridge, and end in savasana. Have two thick blankets and a throw pillow with you!

    This tension releasing restorative practice starts with seated breathing and simple spinal movements before moving into fully supported, resting poses. Please have two pillows and a blanket minimum, but more props are welcome (like another blanket to cover up with, for example!).
