Even with our best intentions and good alignment, a yoga practice contains repetitive movements that, over time, can contribute to imbalance in the body. As the hands and wrists do a lot of weight bearing in modern postural yoga, they greatly benefit from stretching and focused exercises to create balance. This short practice intentionally changes the orientation of the palms on the mat to open the forearms and inner wrists (common places of tightness for yogis), as well as incorporating a few other focused wrist stretches.
