Advancing
This class is for experienced students who want to approach intermediate and advanced poses in a supportive, fun way. Practice will move towards challenging poses with reverence and expert instruction from Justicia.
Students are recommended to be able to kick up to handstand at the wall unassisted and balance headstand in the middle of the room (note those are recommendations and not requirements; if you are able to play your own edge safely and are interested, please join us! A range of modifications and options will be offered for all).

120 min advanced w/ Justicia: twists, side bends, & backbends
Summer solstice 2-hour practice moving towards mandalasana. Includes headstand, forearm stand and handstand variations. Wall space helpful; have a strap and a block!

120 min advanced w/ Justicia: hip openers (lotus) & Inversions
2-hour advanced lotus pose party: hip openers with detailed instruction on padmasana (lotus pose), including coming into padmasana while upside down.

75 min advanced w/ Justicia: backbends
Yoga helps us hone the light of awareness, and our practice becomes one of holding important remembrances in our awareness as we move. This practices approaches eka pada viparita dandasana by lengthening the hamstrings and opening the spine and shoulders. A block and strap might be useful.

Good boundaries are good yoga! Our practice will help us learn how to hold good boundaries with nuance and discernment. Practice moves towards transitioning from sirsasana (headstand) to arm balances, and includes plenty of foundational work. Have two blocks and a towel or blanket.

Our most important values can be brought forward in little ways in each and every day. This practice centers arm balances, beginning with bakasana (crane), and culminating with maksikanagasana (dragonfly). It includes lots of twists and hip openers, including a seated hip cool down.
