Yoga Nidra is a pratyahara (withdrawal of senses) practice that helps turn down sensory input and turn the awareness inwards. This Yoga Nidra is designed to build a deeper awareness of the prana (energy body) and its various manifestations (pancha prana) based on the physiological function and location.
Prana - Intake of nourishment in the form of oxygen, food and experiences
Apana - Removal of waste, both metabolic and emotional
Samana - Assimilation of food and emotions
Udana - Responsible for cognition, expression,clarity
Vyana - Circulation of nourishment and nerve impulses
For Yoga Nidra, ensure you are in a quiet space and keep yourself warm during the practice.
Yoga Nidra is commonly contraindicated for those diagnosed with depression.
